Host Private Events: Restrict Event Registration by Email Domains

Radancy Administrators can create private events by enabling a setting that will only allow users with certain email domains to register.

If you're interested in hosting private events, reach out to your Radancy Account Manager to enable this feature for you.

Once the feature is enabled, you will be able to add email domains required to register for the event:

Leave this field empty to allow any email domains to register for this event.

To edit or update, select the Restrict Event Registration based on Email Domain link in the Event Home.

Alternatively, you can turn on email domain restrictions for a specific event by navigating to the Registration link on the left-hand navigation, Limit Sign-ups then Restrict Email Domains:

You may add up to 20 email domains to allow for the event. Only users with an email address using one of the added email domains will be able to register for the event.

User Experience

If a user registers using one of the email domains permitted by the Event Host, registration will continue as normal for that user.

If a user attempts to register with an email domain that is not permitted by the Event Host, they will receive the following error message preventing them from completing sign-up:

"Email addresses with an example.com domain may not be used to sign up for this event."

Important Notes

  • The email domain restrictions only apply to event participants/candidates. Anyone with a booth assignment or any other non-candidate user roles, i.e. Representatives, Hosts and Presenters, are not restricted based on email domain for these events.

  • If a participant signs up with an email domain that is not restricted due to domain restriction settings and then an Account Admin later updates the domain restriction so that the participant's email address is no longer permitted for registration, the participant's signup and event registration will remain valid and they will not be restricted from accessing the event.

If you have any questions about setting up a Private Event, feel free to submit a request to Radancy Support!
