Video Closed Captioning & Live Captioning

As a Webinars Broadcast Host or Presenter, or a Group Video Host, you can leverage Google Slides or Microsoft Powerpoint to add real-time closed captions to your presentations. Once you have enabled closed captions, simply click to share your screen, select the screen with Google Slides or PowerPoint, and the audience can then view the captioned presentation.

Participants can also enable Google Chrome's Live Caption feature to turn on live captioning for video streams in Hiring Events.

1. Open your presentation in Google Slides. You may need to upload your presentation to Google Slides if it is hosted somewhere else.
2. Click View and select "Present" from the drop down menu.
3. Click the Captions button at the bottom of your screen.

Once these steps are complete, captions appear in real time as you speak. 

Caption with Microsoft PowerPoint

1. Open your presentation in Microsoft Powerpoint. You must be using at least PowerPoint v16.0.11601.20178 (Windows) or v16.22.127.0 (Mac) to enable closed captioning.
2. Click Slide Show and check Always Use Subtitles.
3. Captions then appear in real time as you speak.

Click the Toggle Subtitles icon in the presenter toolbar to turn captions on and off. You can also  customize the language and display of the captions by using the Subtitle Settings menu.

Live Caption in Google Chrome

1. Open Google Chrome. At the top right corner, select the vertical three-dot menu and select Settings.
2. In the left hand menu, select Advanced, then Accessibility.
3. Toggle on Live Caption.

With Live Caption on in Google Chrome, Webinars Broadcasts and any other video streams in Radancy will display closed captions at the bottom of the participant's screen. See Google's support article about Live Caption to learn more.

This method will not enable closed captions for a Host or Presenter's broadcast to all Webinars viewers. Share information about Chrome's Live Caption setting with participants so they can enable it for their own event experience.
