Self Check-In & Kiosk Mode for In-Person Events

Enabling Self Check-in or Kiosk Mode for your in-person events can help make attendee management easier for your event staff, avoid long lines, and provide a better candidate experience. Attendees can either use their personal device to scan a QR code or use an event-supplied laptop or tablet.

Generate Check-In URLs

From Event Home, check Enable Self Check-In.

This generates dedicated URLs for two workflows - a Personal Device Check-in URL and a Kiosk Check-in URL.

Attendees who have not pre-registered for your event are prompted to complete their registration form before finishing either check-in workflow.

Allow Registrations After an Event Ends

You may enable two settings to allow new and updated registrations after an event ends.

When the first setting is enabled, attendees who registered for an in-person event can update their registration information from within the event after it has concluded.

The second setting, only available after the first one is checked, allows new registrations to be added by clicking REGISTER on the event's Landing Page.

These settings do not apply to Bulk Import of registrations.

Add Custom Instructions

Add fully formatted Custom Self Check-in Instructions to greet candidates and provide directions or important information while they check-in.

Check-In Using a Personal Device

When Self Check-In is enabled, an attendee can check into your event by using their own smartphone or other personal device to scan a QR Code that directs them to the Personal Device Check-In URL.

To generate a QR Code to print out and display for attendees to scan, click the QR Code link underneath the Personal Device Check-In URL field. This opens your QR code to save or print in a new browser tab.

Attendees can upload files or images to their registration form using their devices if needed.

Check-In Using Kiosk Mode

Kiosk Mode is intended for use on publicly accessible devices (e.g., iPads) and follows the same workflow steps as with Personal Device Check-In.

However, when the end of the Kiosk Mode workflow is reached, the confirmation page automatically refreshes after 10 seconds and then returns to the beginning of the workflow. To return to the beginning of the workflow faster, users can click the Start next check-in button.

Kiosk Mode Offline

We understand that sometimes during in-person events, internet connection can be a bit unpredictable.

While offline, Kiosks will capture check-in information for pre-registered candidates, as well as walk-in attendee signup and registration information.

Once the Kiosk is reconnected to the internet during or after the event, all check-in and registration data will be synced with Radancy’s Hiring Events.

To enable Offline Kiosk mode, it is featured inside the event under the "Settings" tab. Select "Advanced Settings" and click to check "Enable Offline Mode," and save.

The ability to upload files or images through the registration form is disabled in Kiosk Mode.

Kiosk Mode Best Practices

Since Kiosk Mode is understood to take place on a shared, public device, there are several privacy and security considerations. We recommend the following best practices when using Kiosk Mode:

  • Log out of the Hiring Events Admin before opening Kiosk Mode on the device.
  • Open Kiosk Mode in an incognito or private browser window on the device.
  • Consider turning off autofill form options within your device settings.
  • Consider turning on settings that "lockdown" your device so users cannot navigate away from the Radancy Kiosk Mode check-in page.

The ability to upload files or images through the registration form is disabled in Kiosk Mode.

If a user clicks the Kiosk Mode URL from the Event Home page, they will be warned and logged out. If logged-in event staff copy the Kiosk Mode URL to a new tab in the same browser, they will be automatically logged out, and no warning will be displayed.
